** Vimy Ridge Day: An annual observation to remember Canadians who victoriously fought in the Battle of Vimy Ridge in northern France during WWI.  It is  also known as the National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

*** National Wildlife Week: All Canadians are encouraged by The Canadian Wildlife Federation to get outside and embrace nature. Contact...Nationalwildlifeweek.com...for information on nearby celebrations.

Canadian Animal of the Month

With their mischievous masks and ringed tails, raccoons are a familiar sight and have thrived due to their ability to live in a wide range of habitats.  In natural habitats, raccoons prosper in hardwood swamps, floodplain forests and marshes.  They can also be found in most Canadian cities, towns and
and rural communities…often very pesty and mischievous.

The Greatness of a Nation and its moral progress
can be judged by the way, its animals are treated.
